It’s that magical time of year when everyone is searching Amazon for the latest craze and the hardest decision is whether to upgrade to next-day shipping or trust that standard shipping will arrive in time. Our schedules are packed with holiday lunches and dinner parties, in addition to getting those last-minute budgets or proposals out to clients.
If you’re like me, you struggle with finding the right balance between work and enjoying the spirit of Christmas. You’re focused on an upcoming meeting while at the same time going through the list of names in your head trying to remember who you still need to get a gift for.
This year, here are some steps to taking back the holiday season and allowing it to be both productive and restful:
- Don’t work through the holidays. Set a goal for what you need to accomplish before Christmas and take time off to relax with family and friends.
- The last few weeks typically offer a great opportunity to reflect on the past year and prepare for the next – take advantage of it!
- Stick to those holiday traditions or create new ones to carry on. It’s a great way to make sure we have the holiday we want.
Hope this holiday season is filled with laughter and good food!
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Preservation Kentucky’s Tour120 is an exciting new statewide event designed to raise awareness of the importance of historic preservation to Kentucky’s communities, and raise funds to help the nonprofits that preserve, manage and showcase them. To be held on Saturday-Sunday, May 18-19, 2019 during National Historic Preservation Month, Tour120 will feature tours of historic commercial, residential and public buildings on the same days throughout the state to make a large impact on the public and provide a cohesive branding, advertising and promotional opportunity for the host committees that participate.
The Tour120 concept is simple: With YOUR participation, Preservation Kentucky will promote historic building tours on the same weekend of the year in as many of the Commonwealth’s 120 counties as possible. The success of Tour120 depends on active participation by Host Committees to showcase private historic homes, commercial buildings and other historic places usually closed to the public.
